This utility scans a branch of an IBM Rational DOORS database (user selects folder/project or module) and stores its results in a new or existing DOORS module selected by the user. This utility is used in Part 2 of the Common Metrics Collection video series done by George Siampos. The utility is attached to this topic. To install the utility unzip it into the "projects" folder on your machine. The "projects" folder is at DOORSHOME\lib\dxl\project where DOORSHOME is "C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Rational\DOORS\9.5" by default. You may need to locate their installation folder before attempting the install.

Hi Jason, thank you for sharing this useful tool ... However I am not sure if uploading encrypted content to the forum is something like a 'don't/do'. The first reason is, that people would need to trust, that no harmful code is inside the uploaded encrypted content (which does not seem the case by the way, as far as I can tell). The second one is directly regarded to the "Submission of Content Agreement" that covers the rules for uploading content to the forum: ... (e) the Content does not contain any information that is considered confidential or trade secret to You or any third party; ... If the code is not somehow confidential, why not post it unencrypted, so that people can benefit from your know-how and make modifications as they feel suited and even share those modifications with the community. Apart from that the encrypted code cannot be used with older DOORS environments (unless you provide different encryptions). So I ask you to reconsider and provide the unencrypted code. Apart from that I wanted to inform you that due to the above Content Agreement anyone could probably legally take your code, decode it and repost it in its decoded form or even sell it to someone, since there is no license attached to your code. So if for some reason, you do not want people to access your code in any way, you do not intend, you should put a license on it, or even publish it at some other website and link to it from here ... Just my thoughts, maybe it helps, Regards, Mathias |
